eJournals

Our eJournals platform is the comprehensive Internet resource for research and communications in the geosciences, built on a core database aggregation of peer-reviewed journals indexed, linked, and interoperable with GeoRef.

Since then, GSW has evolved into a highly-regarded scientific research collaborative. Today, GSW delivers integrated access to 46 online journals (157,000+ articles) from 28 pre-eminent publishers, enhanced with specialized tools developed in partnership with Google Maps™ and AGI’s GeoRef, and serves millions of users each year in 45 countries worldwide.

GSW publishers may include nonprofit scientific societies or organizations, university presses, or commercial publishers agreeing to work within the GSW framework. GSW’s founding publishers are among the oldest and largest not-for-profit geoscience organizations in the world, with a long history of successful publication of basic and applied research results and public education materials.

GeoRef Integration

The GeoRef database, established by the American Geosciences Institute in 1966, provides access to the geoscience literature of the world. GeoRef is the most comprehensive bibliographic database in the geosciences and continues to grow by more than 100,000 references a year. The database contains over 4 million references to geoscience journal articles, books, maps, conference papers, reports and theses.
In addition, GSW provides access to GeoRef in Process, a database of bibliographic records that are currently being edited and reviewed for inclusion in GeoRef.
